Dr. Fátima Rodrigues was one of the moderators of the “Round Table: Quality of Life for Cancer Patients”, a panel that addressed the benefits of physical exercise for patients with lung cancer and the importance of sexual health in the face of the challenges of the disease.
According to the pulmonologist, “it is very important that we look at the cancer patient as a person with their characteristics, aspects, desires, fears, and not just think about the patient with a specific physical illness”. He emphasizes that “in the session we tried to convey the importance of putting ourselves on the patient’s side, understanding everything they are feeling, as this is the only way we can help them overcome this phase”. The session delved into the importance of sexuality and physical activity, aspects that are “absolutely vital for everyone and, obviously, for cancer patients too”, highlights Dr. Fátima Rodrigues.
