Read the August article from THORAC.

This month, we are sharing a scientific article published in the journal THORAC, entitled “Benign yet Suspicious: Sclerosing Pneumocytoma Uncovered in Cancer Staging,” by Isabel Eiró, Carlos Alves, and Rúben Costa.

In it, the authors present the case of a patient in whom the investigation of a hilar pulmonary mass—suspected metastasis during the staging of a cervical carcinoma—revealed it to be a sclerosing pneumocytoma, a rare benign tumor. The case highlights the crucial role of endobronchial echoendoscopy (EBUS) in differential diagnosis and in defining therapeutic prioritization in an oncological context.

Follow this monthly section and stay informed about the latest scientific news and reflections in the field of lung cancer and thoracic oncology.
