World Sick Day

Today, February 11, marks the World Day of the Sick, a date instituted by Pope John Paul II 30 years ago, in 1992, and which has served to raise awareness of the need for a personalized and holistic follow-up to the sick person, better health care and equity in access to it.

Throughout its 22 years of history, GECP has had the mission of promoting the improvement of the quality of health services provided to patients. We are a large family of specialists, from different medical and practice areas, focused on the well-being of our patients. Therefore, advising and supporting patients with thoracic cancer is one of the goals of all GECP members.

In line with our aforementioned purposes, we have made available on our website a tab dedicated to “Patients and Caregivers”, in which you can find useful information such as the “Patient’s Duties and Rights” (https://www.gecp.pt/direitos-e-deveres/) and the answer to some “Frequently Asked Questions” (https://www.gecp.pt/perguntas-frequentes/).

To all patients, and in particular those who have Lung Cancer, GECP leaves a message of hope and strength on our social media.
