Dr. Catarina Travancinha, a radioncologist, was one of the speakers at the session “Approach to brain involvement: beginning and end”, at the 10th GECP Congress/ 1st Portuguese Congress on Lung Cancer.
In this session, the role that radiotherapy has played over the last few years as an increasingly effective and less toxic therapy was discussed.
According to the specialist, “therapies must be adapted to the disease, accessibility, prognosis and general state of health of the patient and, therefore, we must focus this complementarity on an individualized and multidisciplinary decision because only in this way can we focus on what matters most, which is the patient”.
