INTERVIEW DR. DAVID ARAÚJO, ON THE PORTO CANAL CONSULTING PROGRAM

Dr. David Araújo, member of the Scientific Committee of the Lung Cancer Study Group (GECP), was on the Porto Canal program “Consultório” to promote the 2nd edition of the Walk in the Rhythm of Health, which will take place on May 18, on the Vila Nova de Gaia waterfront.

During the interview, the specialist highlighted the importance of regular physical activity in preventing lung cancer, also highlighting the fundamental role of smoking cessation and avoidance. “Physical activity is essential not only in preventing oncological diseases, but also in improving the quality of life of patients already diagnosed with lung cancer,” he explained. He also highlighted that the initiative aims to bring together health professionals, cancer patients and their families, in a moment of awareness and health promotion within the community.

The specialist also addressed the challenges associated with diagnosing lung cancer, citing that it is often a silent disease. He pointed out the main symptoms and reinforced the importance of being aware of warning signs.
