Dr. Helena Donato, Director of the Scientific Documentation and Information Service at ULS Coimbra, was the trainer for the Course for Reviewers, which took place on the first day of the Spring Meeting.
The specialist emphasizes that the objective of the course “is to provide the new GECP journal, THORAC, with a good body of reviewers”. He adds that one of the assets of a good reviewer “is scientific citizenship, that is, helping others in the publication process.”
Dr. Helena Donato also addressed the current challenges in publishing scientific articles, highlighting the so-called “dark side” of scientific publishing, that is, journals that do not follow rigorous peer review processes.
