The Doctor. Nelson Ferreira, from the IPO Radio-Oncology Service in Lisbon, was part of the set of speakers for Round Table 1: Local Disease Control, at the Spring Meeting of the Lung Cancer Study Group (GECP).
The “Role of Radiotherapy” was the theme he presented and which he considers to be “an increasingly important topic due to the great emergence of new technologies, association with the evolution of radiotherapy, and drugs with great intracranial activity”. The expert believes that “radiotherapy is a very good weapon for local and effective treatment, with high rates of local control of metastatic lesions”.
Lastly, Dr. Nelson Ferreira also makes a positive assessment of the Spring Meeting, noting that these events are very important so that professionals are all in the great common goal, which is the best treatment for patients with lung cancer.
