According to the World Health Organization, Governments around the world must take decisive action to curb the use of electronic cigarettes. In a recently released note, the agency highlights the importance of treating these products in the same way as similar ones.
Electronic cigarettes are highly addictive and there is currently an alarming use of electronic cigarettes by children and young people with harmful consequences in the short and medium term.
Electronic cigarettes emit aerosols containing toxic substances associated with the development of cancer, also increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, have potential adverse impacts on brain development in young people and are extremely dangerous for pregnant women and their babies. It is also feared that as the years go by, many other still unknown risks may emerge.
