GABRIELA FERNANDES &#8211; DECOPROTESTE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Deco Proteste recently interviewed Prof. Gabriela Fernandes, member of the Board of Directors of the Lung Cancer Study Group (GECP), about lung cancer screening pilot projects.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Pulmonology specialist, these projects represent &#8220;an essential step in the fight against lung cancer&#8221;, since early detection &#8220;significantly increases the chances of a cure and represents a decisive milestone in the control of lung cancer in Portugal&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Gabriela Fernandes warns, however, that the success of the programs depends on practical implementation, including the availability of resources and the population&#8217;s adherence.
