We close the interviews at the “Round Table: What’s New in Early NSCLC Disease”, from the Autumn Meeting, with comments from Dr. Catarina Travancinha, radioncologist at the CUF Oncology Institute, in Lisbon.
The specialist spoke about the “Role of radiotherapy”, highlighting the progress of this therapy over the years. “Radiotherapy has had a fantastic evolution, adapting to new techniques that allow us to treat, with a few millimeters of margin, small tumors with very high doses, thus optimizing our therapeutic window”, explains the radio oncologist. It is a “more comfortable treatment, without scars and with little toxicity”, she concludes.
