Approaching brain involvement: beginning and end

For the specialist, “the surgical approach to brain metastases is a decision that does not concern neurosurgeons alone, and should always be decided in a multidisciplinary context”. He also highlights the importance of the existence of more and more multidisciplinary meetings “in which the patient is evaluated by patient, that is, which ones have surgical indication and which ones should undergo another type of treatment”.

About the future, the neurosurgeon hopes that “these meetings can bring individualized treatment to each patient and that with this, survival time and quality of life can be increased”.
